It is in fabulous condition with only minor wear and a few spots of lacquer discoloration. It has a french bead rim, sharp engraving and no signs of repair. The outer slide has been rebuilt by Bruce Belo with new Bach outer tubes, it has amazingly fast action. I don't think it will last long... and I never see them for sale. The bell has been re-lacquered at some point but it was well done and the branding is crisp and clear http://nickgrantham.com/freebooks/promenade-bydlo. For as big as it is, it has a surprisingly clear and flexible sound. The instrument is also quite lightweight compared to some of the other similar sized 6/4 out there possibly one reason why it plays so well. It does have some worn spots on the contact points through the silver http://nickgrantham.com/freebooks/5-mystical-songs-trombone-2-part-qty-2-a-6124. Sale Pending This is a Benge model 290 inline bass trombone. It is a professional model and features a 10" gold brass bell and independent rotary valves in Bb/F/D/Gb. Benge trombones play very dark and powerful. If you've ever listened to Jim DeSano of the Cleveland Orchestra, you'll know exactly what this trombone sounds like http://nickgrantham.com/freebooks/samson-hwv-57-trombone-1-2-and-3-parts-a-2303. His inventions were imitated throughout the United States and Europe. The Vincent Bach company, known for its Stradivarius line, began producing tenor and bass trombones in 1928, when Bach opened a factory in the Bronx. The bells of Bach horns are usually marked with “Model” followed by numbers indicating the bell mandrel and bore size. Many variations of the rotary valve have been invented in the past half-century such as the Thayer Valve or Axial-Flow Valve, the Hagmann valve, the Greenhoe rotor, and several others, all of which were designed to give the trombone a more open, free sound than a conventional rotary valve would allow http://papabearart.com/library/sticks-n-bones-music-minus-one-trombone. It features a one piece yellow brass bell, traditional F attachment and a .562 straight bore handslide. This is a silver-plated model 50B and is a great sounding instrument. I've often thought that silver horns tend to sound darker than their brass counterparts http://go-science.ru/?lib/melodious-etudes-for-trombone-selected-from-the-vocalises-of-marco-bordogni-book-iii. Plus, the Euphonium is a "jack of all trades" instrument. It can support the tuba with an octave, the sound complements the horn's, the Euphonium can be used with a woodwind line to add strength, it can soften the trombone section, and I have even sometimes seen it share a flute part , e.g. http://nickgrantham.com/freebooks/sursum-corda-op-13-trombone-1-2-and-3-parts-a-8166.
We offer models from the following brands: Trombone literally means “big trumpet” and is essentially just that. The trombone provides bright and fully expressive tones. The trombone’s voice is a rich tenor voice that extends an octave or two below the trumpet ref.: http://lernbild.de/lib/15-popular-solos-trombone-book-only. One was yellow brass, soldered and lacquered. The other was the aforementioned gold-brass unsoldered, lacquered bell. A friend who was with me that day came to the same conclusion regarding which bell was right for me. Each bell that I tried really did have its distinct characteristics. Choosing among them seems a lot more satisfying than auditioning horns that are all supposed to be the same, which you might do at a factory showroom of some larger manufacturers , source: http://nickgrantham.com/freebooks/christmas-classics-easy-instrumental-solos-or-duets-for-any-combination-of-instruments-bass-clef. Your best bet would be to order a custom mouthpiece with the Reynolds shank from one of the custom mouthpiece makers. $500 without case. Perhaps hard to track down anymore, but this place named "Spaeth/Schmid" appears to offer them yet: http://tinyurl.com/6hqso An excerpt from the booklet notes: "In addition to the diversity of instrumental resources and the resulting treasury of tone colours in distinctive instrumental combinations, the historical instruments possess a typical quality which virtually predestines their use for the performance of Renaissance music: their ability to combine perfectly with voices without losing their acoustic character or being deprived of their individuality, and this in such a manner that the voices are not overpowered or tonally muddled http://nickgrantham.com/freebooks/vyehrad-jb-1-112-1-trombone-1-2-and-3-parts-qty-2-each-a-2059.
The joint connecting the slide and bell sections is furnished with a ferrule to secure the connection of the two parts of the instrument, though older models from the early 20th century and before were usually equipped with friction joints and no ancillary mechanism to tighten the joint http://nickgrantham.com/freebooks/hal-leonard-12-smash-hits-for-trombone-instrumental-play-along-book-cd. It has been 24K gold plated and is a stunning trombone to both see and play. I'm a big fan of gold plated horns, I feel that it helps protect the brass but also gives the tone of the horn a nice color and character http://development.existnomore.com/ebooks/canadian-brass-christmas-carols-trombone-2-15-easy-arrangements. I make all of my bell stems and flares out of the finest hand picked sheet brass. The bell to slide coupling is smooth with no knurling coming in contact with the player. This gives the whole assembly a very Art Deco look. You will be amazed at the tone color change as you change out the flares. I did not just pick a spot to cut the flare that would make it fit into a slim case http://go-science.ru/?lib/overture-di-ballo-trombone-3-part-qty-2-a-5688.
