In 2005 I sat down with Mark Jarvis and together we developed the recovery pyramid. The idea was to create a logical structure that could help coaches and athletes make informed choices about the most appropriate recovery intervention to use.
You see, we were confused and the athletes we were working with were clearly confused, taking a scatter gun approach to their recovery and regeneration.
During the past 10-years the recovery pyramid has been tweaked and a couple of years ago I settled on the current version.
Probably the most important element is the core connecting each level
INTEGRATED APPROACH WITH INDIVIDUAL FOCUS
Current research is backing up the common sense approach that we took 10-years ago – get the basics right!
