Blood flow restriction (occlusion training) is gaining popularity and has been a technique that I've used since 2010 with athletes from football and basketball recovering from injury.
The body of evidence supporting this novel training intervention is increasing every year and I thought I would share a couple of recent papers looking at blood flow restriction.
The first paper review the use of blood flow restriction in athletes. The second paper looks at the application of blood flow restriction in the elderly. I know it's a totally different population but I still think it's worth looking at.
